Zecharia Sitchin fue un gran arqueólogo y profundo conocedor del hebreo, de las lenguas semíticas y europeas, del Antiguo Testamento y de la Historia y la Arqueología del Oriente Próximo. Fue además uno de los pocos eruditos que entienden el Sumerio. Sitchin estudió en la London School of Economics and Political Science, y se licenció en la Universidad de Londres.
